Days in Singapore...
This trip to Singapore have four main purposes: A = Attending my daughter wedding; B = Visiting my Singapore relatives; C = Sight Seeing; D = Of course Shopping la!! |Day One|
Actually I am very curious about the local food. Because nearly everyone that from Penang that work in Singapore, describe how horrible is the local food. That night we went to a shopping center called VIVO CITY to explore the food court call FoodRepublic.
The unique design of this food court really catch my eyes, so are the stalls that selling different types of local hawker food.
FRIED HOKKIEN MEE (炒福建面): This is the 1st time I tried. Taste a little like our Penang Indian Mee Goreng. Sour, Sweet & Salty. The leaf that they use to contain the noodles creates a very unique aromas.
JAWA NASI AYAM (something like that): The fried chicken are so tendered. The black color sauce is the prawn sauce that we use to mix up with Asam Laksa. But I was being told by the hawker to mix up with the sambal Chili. Very spicy indeed, but taste very delicious.
YOONG TOU FU : A hakka delight for sure. Nothing much different with Penang YOONG TOU FU, except far much expensive.
MINCE MEAT NOODLE (肉醩面) : A very common local dishes. Very much a like Wan Tan Mee, except they are using a lots of mince pork, some finely cut pig liver, and flavored with some extra black rice vinegar. yum yum!!|DAY TWO|
Woke up around 10:30a.m.. Decided to take a bus to the food court near my brother's apartment neighborhood. And below are the food that we took for our brunch.
HAINAN CHICKEN RICE : Really very much different with Penang style of Hainan Chicken Rice. It's more dry, as it don't come with watery soy sauce. But definitely have it own uniqueness and tastiness. *~thumbs up~*
BRAISED DUCK RICE (滷鴨飯) : served with yam rice, and bean curt. And since yam rice is my favorite rice, so it's definitely can be rated as a tasty dishes.
FIVE SPICES (五香) : deep fried food that you picked. Something like Penang Loh Bak, except they only come with chili sauce. ~Wedding Day~

After having my brunch, we'd took a cab to Apple's wedding. It's a very simple wedding ceremony that held in her new house. Not much guest, but it's truly a very warm wedding.
|DAY THREE|
Last day of the trip in Singapore. Today not much of food exploring, simply enjoying the times catching up with my uncles and his family. Met my uncle 1st time 2 years back, while me and my dad on our way back from China, we'd spend a night in Singapore. His hospitality really shocked me off. Since then, the bond within is getting very much closer then before. It's definitely a gladness to have such a good family relation.
FROM LEFT: Uncle Chun, Me, My Great Aunt, My Aunt and My Cousin.
FROM LEFT: Me, Cindy, My Great Aunt, My Aunt, My Cousin and Uncle Chun. Our bus depart from Singapore at 9:30p.m.. Reach Penang around 6a.m. the next day. (Thanks to Alan that purposely come to pick us up so early morning.)

WORK YOUR LOVE; LOVE YOUR WORK
To "LOVE YOUR WORK" in the other hands, it involved lots of elements. It's not easy to be categorized in this section though... You need more courage to do so; You need more patience to do so; And you definitely need to put in more efforts to do so... So folks, if you are working very hard to love your jobs, love your works.. Keep it up, hold your chest up and be proud of yourself.
At the end of the day... no one is perfect anyway..
Adios....
Another stage in life....
Well, I am trying my best though.... I am trying.... :)

The Launching Events <8th Of November 2008>
Actually my worries are full with dilemma: I worried it will rain. As rain will spoil nearly everything of our efforts of setting up for this events. I worried the sun will be too shine. as when the weather is too hot, it will cooked out all my balloons deco.
6:25a.m. - Day starting to shine. I look at the sky on top of my head. I still able to see few stars blinking, which definitely a good beginning.
7:30a.m. - It's the final round to make sure everything is on the line.
8:00a.m. - Every involved party has arrived.
8:30a.m. - I chaired a short briefing to run through all the programs.
9:00a.m. - The show finally begin.
Being honest, I have to apologized to the VIPs. I apologized because I didn't insist of setup a tent for the VIPs while the CHEC person in-charge reject my suggestion. End up the sun too shine, the VIPs got their laps "roasted". Solly solly....
Finally, I have to stress out many thanks to everybody that involved in this events. Es specially Ah Tiong ko and his crew, they really truely didn't sleep whole night to rush up all the settings; Ah Hong that help me up to setup the balloons leaf for the trees; Ivan and his lovely models, the being so professional on escorting the VIPs through out the whole events (although the way they walk still felt like running Fashion Show. Hahaha..); Joie and his friend - the photographer, that always being pushed by other over aggressive press photographer. And many others that I didn't write out. WITHOUT YOU ALL.... THERE SURELY WON'T BE SUCH A SUCCESS EVENT.
MAYBE NOBODY WILL KNOW WHO WE ARE AND WHAT HAD WE DID. BUT I HOPE THAT YOU ALL WILL BE PROUD OF YOURSELF OF INVOLVED IN THIS OPENING CEREMONY. IT'S DEFINITELY A GREAT MEMORIES FOR SURE.

PENANG ISLAND, an extremely tiny island that barely hard to be seen from the world map. Sometimes if the world map is too small, you might need microscope to look for it kok tim...
YES, it have lots of resorts by the sea, but we don't have breath taking clean sandy beach and sea like others diving spot(most of the times yet still got lots of cute jelly fish floating around kok thim..).
YES, the hawker food still very tasty, but not cheap anymore. Why? simple, nation economy crisis, they increase; petrol price raise, they increase; flour pricing raise, they increase; Tourism Season coming, they increase; Chinese New Year coming, they increase. So you tell me, how to be not expensive.?
YES, our GEORGETOWN has now been called The World Historical Protected City (Something like that la). But if you compare with MELAKA, the preservation job are far many steps behind then MELAKA. After holding 3 days of celebration, what else the government did to make up for this honor? Lately there was one our nation celebrity (Origin From Penang State) that stayed in China for few years saying that he willing promoting Penang to the world by electing him as our Tourism EmbasSHITor with the budget of 60 millions ringgit. DAMN, I think he must be forgotten to bring along his brain with him. (siao eh... if state government got RM60 Million budget, I find Andy Lau better la...)
YES, we have more than few hundred years of history bow along with us. But just simply add on a different language of road sign at the bottom of the official road sign, the BUMMY people already start protesting.. OI OI OI... we just add on our mother language so that can remind our children about the history of our old road name when they grow up only ma. What so big deal? Beside, you know how to read our writing meh? Can't you just take it as a decoration meh? Independent for more than 50 years d, still so naive minded. PEACE LA~!! When we wanna lepak, we also go to mamak store to eat and drink what... But did we said it's not fair that why only we go to mamak eat, and you didn't come to our sioh bak chicken rice stall to eat meh?
Be more considerative la... Brother~!!! MALAYSIA BOLEH~!! PENANG BOLEH~!!

Back in action.... Don't Push, don't push!!
Well, I had to admit that I am still trying very hard to catch up with this trendy blogy things... Oh ya, FYI that until few minutes ago, I still don't really know why blog being called blog. I mean, why BLOG? Why not other words, like why not Webary? (combination of Web + Diary), it sounds more sense to me if it being call webary... After I search through the net just now, then only I know: Blog = Web + Log...OOooOo.. like that hior... But I still think webary sounds better, sounds more cool, don't you think so??
During my younger days, I used to write a lot. All the thoughts, ideas, (Just like a blog should be). But it was a tiny old hard cover book called DIARY..(Speaking of diary, I am wondering where I had accidentally accommodated it d. Hahaha...(Thats me though, big head with tiny brain, and the remaining spaces inside my head filled with grasses)
I did flipped through few blogs, and then I noticed that it can be thousands of way to be a blog. Example, my younger brother blog (http://stupidenterprise.blogspot.com). His blog always full with colorful pictures he tooked to emphasize more on his passage elaboration; My elder sister (http://doris-surf.blogspot.com) in the other hand, she always like to post pictures too, but she's always active with interactions like dropping comments, etc. So this blog can be summarize with one simple conclusion:"Do it your own way, don't care who's better or more organized. JUST DO IT!!"
Yeah babe~!!

Short Break...

So hard... Yet not that hard eventually.
Lately was so addicted with the TV series "Kyle XY 2nd Seasons.". The biggest different of this series with others is that it make you start thinking, with a comfortable ways... And I like it so much. It inspires me lots of stuff.. Some of those that I had forgotten, and even some of it I never let it cross my mind before. How should I describe... it's like "I feel so ME, myself again".. I am a guy with lots of hussle and worries.. I don't like gamble as I don't like to lose. Eventhough sometimes I might do things that not so "common sensely people might be doing". But don't worry. I'll only doing that when comes to something not harmfull in life at all... That's me.
Three things I learned last weekend: A- "Being too calculative, or smart ass sometimes just make your life stop going forwards." B- "There's nothing not workable, as matters the most is your own willingness." C- "Learn to put down my egociaty and bound to earth."
Now if you ask me, would I do something I don't really like for the best benefit of myself and everything around me? I might doubt previously, but now I will definately going for it.... WHY? Simple, because I am convincing my mind that I am capable of doing the task.. When I believe, there's nothing impossible. Yes, it's not easy, but it's achievable...
May everyone having the pleasent moments all the time. Cherish the quality moments around with your family, friends..
Cheers...

Strange Dream
I dream that I was back to the age of 15+ with 26+ yrs old memory..
I am running... and running... It's a long run. I know that I am looking for someone during the run....
And finally I stop at the front gate of a primary school....
I saw my brother at the age of 11+ standing infront the gate seems like looking for someone also. When I saw him I straightly walk toward him and we are giving each other a huge strong hug. When we hug, my tears just drop like nobody business...
I felt the warm. I felt the caring... It just seems so real... Perhaps I am just too pressure... Perhaps I am just too exhausted... But I glad I had this weired dream..
Bro... Take care out there....K? Love you man...

Wedding... Unforgetable Days...
Here's our HERO of the month.. Wearing his new pajamas (sort of local chinese traditions) on the eve of his wedding day.. The unforgetable moments of my life. I still remember how we met during high school times, I still remember the days we work in Island Plaza, I still remember the days we all working in RICE, I still remember the "signature arguement" between me and him, along with Chor Lam as middle man @ BIRD SHIT MAMAK... I still remember the night we all lying on the floor outside of RICE, just to watch the meteor shower and make our stupid wish, I still remember lots of it.... Time really flies....
Few months back, I was in KL. After I came out from the 1-Utama Cinema watching Resident Evil Premium show.. I saw his miss call. And I called back... Alan said:"na, dun say I didn't inform you 1st a.... I wanna getting married d..." All of the suddent... My brain just stop functioning for a short while as I was still thinking he's joking, and the following moments, I feel so happy for him and Tammy. Finally the day is coming.... And before you know it, it just passed..
Brother... Lots of people said married is just like sending yourself to a cell. But what I say is "SCREW THEM LA!!"... It's not the end of anything... Yet It's the begining of another big steps in your life... Along the way I can say you are the luckiest guy in the world... As you have Tammy the dinosaur "Cryptoclidus" by your side. I can forsee it's a great life that you ever dream of... A great life that all of us will be envy for decates..

Have you ever ask yourself question like below?:
Question 2 : Have you ever look back into your past?
Question 3 : Do you see any mistakes in what you did before?
Question 4 : Do you learn any lesson from it?
Question 5 : Do you really learned? Really? Are you sure? Do you learned? Or you just understand?
Many people confused with the word "learn" and "understand". Example, a person claimed that he'd learn from mistakes that gambling is a bad habits bla bla bla... But after a short period of time... He still stickied with his bad habit.
Many people nowadays facing this kind of problem. I am not talking about gambling, I am talking about attitude towards life.... When we fall, we feel the pain, we thought we're learning something from our mistakes.. but most of the time people still will fall at the same spot with the same mistakes. By then, we feel the pain again, and trying to get some help from friends or anyone around us to lay their hand out so that can give us a lift. And again, we'll assuming we'd learned from the mistakes 2nd time, and we will grow stronger. (WRONG!!)
I mean, if we really learned.... if we really really really learned, there's no reason we will fall at the same spot again. Right? The definition of "LEARN" to me in life is "you will get the case into deep analyse. will put the mistakes lesson into your mind, and if neccessary put action on to avoid the issue ever happen again". Trust me on this: "excuses only keep you weak and runaway from the real life" - FACE IT!! IT WON'T BITE!! Only coward will thinking of runaway or quiting.
Hope this idea do apply in your life as well.

Kampung Style Kenduri... Cool..
Basically this is how the situation feels like: there are totally 4 tents setup around his uncle kampung house. Among the 4 tents, each 2 were means for Guys, and the other 2 tents were mean for Ladies. When we walk till his house from parking place, Sham (my colleague) parents shake our hands so firm until you even can feel their gladfull of finally seeing how their beloved sons workmates looks like. After a short chit chatting session with their parents, we were lead to the dining area, starting to serve us their tasty kampung style dishes...: Tendered Beef cooked with lots of onions & yellow ginger powder, banana seeds with curry beef, pineapple with fish, wintermelon with carrots, etc... yummy... By the time we enjoying our delicious dishes, The "kahwin" ceremony get started.. The gendang beating part were being replaced by pre-recoreded CDs, but the rest of it just as traditions as it should be.
By the way, did I mention? Me and Hong are the only two chinese guy that attending the Kenduri. All of Sham's Kampung neighbours and relatives looks so funny when they saw some chinese guy attending malay kenduri... ha ha...
So basically it's a great day.. Can't wait till Sham his own kenduri... I think by then should be more chinese people will be coming over... kiak kiak kiak... Till that day....
